RecycleForce strives for a cleaner environment through recycling electronics and other recyclables that are often thrown into the landfill. We look to develop ways to recycle items that have rarely been recycled or have many obstacles in the recycling process. We have a goal of zero for any of our material going into the landfill. Our goal is to employ and serve those who are virtually unemployable in the private sector. For these individuals, a program of transitional employment with comprehensive supportive services is their best and perhaps only shot at securing employment paying a livable wage in the mainstream economy and not returning to prison.
RecycleForce, a 501(c)3 organization, is a social enterprise offering some of the most comprehensive and innovative recycling services around while providing life-changing workforce training to formerly incarcerated individuals. Taking the electronic waste and other recyclables provided by residents and corporate partners, RecycleForce deconstructs these items, recycles the materials and disposes of the waste safely and cleanly. The scrap metals and other reusable materials collected in this process are then sold to help pay for job training programs and employment opportunities for formerly incarcerated men and women in order to support their re-entry back into society. While providing a job for formerly incarcerated individuals, we also provide supportive services through our case managers on staff. We assist them with health insurance, drivers’ education, housing, counseling, child support services, transportation services, and various other support services, helping them get acclimated back into society.
