Pirelli has made a commitment to carbon neutrality by 2030 at global level. The company signed on to the Science-Based Targets initiative, and plans to reduce absolute CO2 emissions 25% by 2025 compared with 2015. Pirelli has a 2025 goal of 100% renewable electricity, as well as targets to increase renewable and recycled materials in new tires, and improve tire fuel economy.
The US company includes a highly automated manufacturing plant in northwest Georgia and sales offices located across the United States.
Pirelli leads the tire industry in various sustainability rankings, and has been actively committed to the fight against climate change in its advocacy over many years. Pirelli joined the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and voluntarily discloses information on risks and opportunities related to climate change. The company supports a price on carbon and has signed onto a number of initiatives advocating for sound climate policy in alignment with the Paris Agreement.
