MAPA Group
MAPA Group was founded by Michael Peck in 1994 as a “doing well by doing good” project and transactional-driven business development practice in the green economy sector. Starting in the early 1990s, MAPA Group outlined a triangular business development approach to the “Iberoamerican Marketplace,” involving best practice, cross-border transactions between the Iberian Peninsula, Latin America, and the United States. MAPA Group was instrumental in locating and integrating the operations of the leading Spanish wind turbine manufacturer, Gamesa, to Pennsylvania, resulting in over $220 million invested in two factories, 1000 in-state good & green jobs created, and Gamesa North America named in 2009 as a “model U.S. green economy company.” Other examples include the Turning Point Solar project in Ohio that will place the nation’s largest PV power plant on reclaimed mine lands in rural Appalachia.
For over a decade, MAPA Group has served as the North American delegation for Mondragon, the world’s largest industrial worker cooperative. In late 2009, MAPA helped engineer a partnership between Mondragon and the United Steelworkers Union to form a worker industrial cooperative and progressive union alliance to create next generation jobs opportunities.
