Tequila Johnson is award-winning community organizer and strategist whose work focuses on creating equality and increasing civic engagement among Black Americans and other communities of color.  She has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, on CNN, MSNBC and around the country. Johnson is the co-founder and vice president of The Equity Alliance, a Tennessee-based nonprofit that equips black and brown citizens with tools and strategies to strengthen their communities and make government work better.

Programs Director, Climate Action Business Association

Kelleher was impelled to enter the environmental field by watching the impact of sea level rise on her hometown, and further developed her commitment to environmental policy while working as a legislative aide in the Massachusetts State House. As programs director for Climate Action Business Association (CABA), which recently merged with nonprofit Climate XChange, Kelleher develops strong, reliable communication channels with CABA’s member businesses, climate-vulnerable communities, and key stakeholders in the legislature.

Executive Director, Co-op Dayton

Lela Klein is the Executive Director of Co-op Dayton, a non-profit organization dedicated to building worker cooperatives that drive equitable growth in the blue collar community of Dayton, Ohio.  She is also a Board Member and Project Manager for the Gem City Market, a multi-stakeholder cooperative grocery store start-up-in progress that will bring access to good food into an area of Dayton that is considered a food desert.

Chris Lu is a thought leader with a comprehensive understanding of American governance and over two decades of public service in a variety of roles. Since 2017, he has been senior strategic advisor at Fiscal Notes, a government relations management platform; and a senior fellow at the Miller Center, a nonpartisan affiliate of the University of Virginia that specializes in presidential scholarship, public policy, and political history and applies the lessons of history and civil discourse to today’s pressing problems.

Lauren, 21, is currently working as the Sunrise Movement’s Political & Legislative Coordinator. She grew up in South FL where intensifying, climate change-fueled hurricanes threaten her community every year. Being raised in this environment, Lauren is committed to holding politicians accountable to protecting the health and wellbeing of all people and fighting for bold policies like the Green New Deal. Before moving to DC, Lauren was part of Sunrise’s 2018 electoral program in Michigan and was the Rhode Island hub coordinator.
