BLM should strengthen its methane waste prevention rule

ASBN members Sandra McCardell, founder of CurrentC Energy Systems, and Angela Merkert, director of Alliance for Local Prosperity, call on the Bureau of Land Management to require oil/gas companies to capture gas rather than burning it in flares. More than half of people in New Mexico living within 1,000 feet of oil/gas wells are people of color, and are especially susceptible to dangerous air pollution caused by venting and flaring.
