Call on Congress to Invest in Regenerative and Just Agriculture
Congress is currently negotiating a legislative package that will invest in the nation’s infrastructure to create jobs and help advance a just transition to a sustainable 21st-century economy. The plan for this infrastructure package, laid out in the Biden Administration’s American Jobs Plan, is ambitious but has only limited funding for agriculture and food systems. That’s why ASBC’s Regenerative Agriculture and Justice Working Group developed this memo urging Congress to include funding for a variety of programs that will facilitate the group’s goals.
Congress and the White House hope to pass the infrastructure package by July, so now is the time to act. Send a message to your representative and senator asking them to invest in a more regenerative and just food system and pointing them towards ASBC’s memo for specific ideas on where funding is the most needed.
